PERIOD OF VALIDITY
A money order issued abroad should be presented for payment during the period of validity stated upon the order. Orders presented after the expiry of the period of validity will be paid only after special authority has been obtained by the office at which it is presented.
DUPLICATES
The payee should apply for a duplicate order to the Chief Postal Accountant, G.P.O., Hong Kong, enclosing with his application a fee of 80 cents.
A form for this purpose may be obtained at any money order office.
STOPPAGE OF PAYMENT
The payee of a money order issued abroad should apply for stoppage of payment direct to the office at which the order is payable, enclosing with his application a fee of 40 cents,
A form for this purpose may be obtained at any money order office.
TRANSFER OF PAYMENT
To transfer payment of an order from one office to another in the Colony application should be made, preferably on the form provided for the purpose, obtainable at any money order office. The form, with the order, should be sent to the office at which the order is payable. A new order less the amount of a second poundage and payable at the place desired will be issued in exchange.
OVERSEAS TELEGRAPH MONEY ORDERS

Telegraph money orders may be sent to and received from Great Britain and the Irish Republic only.

The charges for telegraph money orders payable abroad are as follows:

A charge for the official telegram of advice in respect of each order; A supplementary fee.
The telegram may be sent at any of the following rates:-
The Letter Telegram (LT) rate. Telegrams at this rate will be subject, if necessary, to deferment during transmission in favour of full rate telegrams.

A supplementary fee of 40 cents is payable in addition to the cost of the telegram of advice.
Overseas telegraph money orders are issued subject to the same conditions as overseas ordinary money orders except as indicated in the following paragraphs.
PURCHASE
The words By Telegraph, By Telegraph Letter or By Telegraph Urgent according to whether the telegram of advice is to be sent at the Ordinary, Letter Telegram or Urgent rate, should be written across the requisition form.
CROSSING
Telegraph money orders for places abroad cannot be crossed for payment through a bank.
