(c) If the sender desires to be informed by telegraph whether his request to cancel a radio-telegram has been complied with, he must pay in addition for a reply of three words, and the instruction "R.P.

must be signalled as part of the cancelling message. In the latter case the indication "R.P.-- is charged for as one word.

248.-(a) Radio-telegramus may, at the risk of the sender, be exchanged with ships which are out or range of the Cape D'Aguilar Coast Station by the aid of intervening ships.

(b) The number of retransmissions is limited to two.

(c) The charge for such telegram is the ordinary charge, plus 20 cents a word, with minimum of $2, for one retransmission; 40 cents a word with minimum of $4, for two retransmissions.

(d) The charge for retransmission is held as a deposit for settlement on receipt of information as to the number of retransmissions that were actually necessary.

(e) The information required for settlement can be obtained by telegraph from the Const Station. The additional charge is 25 cents which must be prepaid.

(f) All telegrams requiring retransmission should bear before the address

(g) Radio-telegrams routed as above must bear, before the address the

service indication RM- (Retransmission).

249. The charges for radio-telegrams incorrectly transmitted, unduly delayed or not delivered to the addressee, will be refunded, wholly or in part, under certain conditions.

The following are the principal cases in which reimbursement may be claimed :

(a) When a radio-telegram written in plain language has been rendered useless by inaccurate transmission, the whole amount paid will be refunded. Under no circumstances is the charge for a code or cypher radio-telegram returned on account of an error in transmis- sion (except in the case of collated telegrams) unless such error leads to non-delivery or delay beyond the limits mentioned in (d). (b) When a radio-telegram has failed to reach its destination through some fault on the part of the telegraphic or radio-telegraphic service, the whole of the amount paid will be refunded.

(c) When one or more words have been omitted in transmission the cost of such word or words will be refunded, provided that it is not less than $0.50, (10d., or 1 franc).

(d) When a radio-telegram is delayed through the fault of the telegraph service, the whole of the charge will be refunded if the delay reaches the limit of 24 hours. The time occupied in wireless trans- mission, and the time during which the radio-telegram remains at the Coast Station in the case of radio-telegrams to ships will not be reckoned towards the period of delay entitling the sender to reim- bursement.
