CONCLUSION
130. There can be few organisations which touch the daily lives of the people of Hong Kong as, does the Post Office. It deals with hundreds of thousands of postal items every day and each of these items is handled several times before it is delivered or despatched overseas. Its staff deal with people of every walk of life and they visit homes, factories and offices as often as twice a day.
131. In this kind of operation mistakes are made: being human, we do not satisfy all the people all the time. Nevertheless, Hong Kong provides a postal service which I believe is second to none anywhere in the world today: the credit for this goes to the staff it is my privilege to lead. I thank them most sincerely for their loyalty and co-operation and I congratulate them on the success which has attended their en- deavours over the past year.
