Bathing Pavilion
105. The Club's bathing pavilions at Stanley and Ting Kau were made full use of by members throughout the swimming season.
Social Activities
106. The Annual Children's Party, a regular feature of the Depart- ment's social activities, was held on 18th January, 1970. The number attending rose to nearly 1,000. The children were entertained to games and side-shows by guest artists and presented with gifts. Some popular T.V. personalities kindly attended and took part in entertaining the children.
Swimming-Crook Cup
107. The 14th Annual Inter-Section Swimming Competition for the Crook Cup was held on 2nd October, 1969 at the European Y.M.C.A. pool. Five teams participated. The Kowloon Postmen team retained the championship for the sixth successive year with the Kowloon Clerks team as runners-up.
Miniature Football-Hogarth Shield
108. 11 teams participated and the Shield was won by the Hong Kong Postmen team with the Registration and Parcels team as runners-up.
CONCLUSION
109. In concluding this report I am happy to pay a sincere tribute to the staff at all levels who have coped cheerfully with the enormous workload. Continuing expansion in postal business has made demands to which all have responded willingly and effectively.
