62. Infringement of regulations by ship station radio operators on ships registered in Hong Kong were reported by monitoring stations of various countries and necessitated investigations into twelve instances involving operators with Hong Kong Certificates of Competency.

64. The proposed Port Operations Radio Communication system in Hong Kong made necessary the introduction of a special certificate for operators of radio stations on vessels using the service in the waters of the Colony. Special courses for this certificate were conducted by the Technical College with the assistance of the Division's staff. 127 candidates were examined and 101 were awarded certificates.
