bringing the total in operation on 31st March, 1969 to 55. The new Post Office in Des Voeux Road replaced the Man Yee Arcade Post Office. Tai Nan Street Post Office was opened originally to provide temporary relief to Sham Shui Po Post Office pending completion of the new office at Cheung Sha Wan which was opened in April 1966. 52. Nine more Post Offices are scheduled for completion next year. 53. Concerning the more important building projects the following information is recorded:

(a) New General Post Office

A revised feasibility study has been prepared for the new G.P.O. and active consideration is now being given to this project.

(b) Colony Transit Mail Office and Sorting Office, Hung Hom

With the assistance of a Consultant from the Australian Post Office tentative building and postal mechanization layouts have been prepared and the planning of this project is now being actively advanced. The tentative completion date is mid-1972.
