9. The Telecommunications Division continued to carry out their work in advising on all telecommunications matters and collection of telecommunication licences. 481 prosecutions against persons contraven- ing the Telecommunications Ordinance were carried out.

10. Broadcast Receiving licences were abolished with effect from 28th February, 1967.

11. The Post Office Recreation Club continued to be active, the main feature of the year being the provision of a bathing pavilion at Stanley Main Beach. A further bathing pavilion was almost completed by the end of the year on the Ting Kau Beach for staff living in the Kowloon and New Territories areas.

STAFF

12. The total authorized establishment of the Post Office at the close of the year was 1,820 (excluding supernumeraries), an increase of 145 over the preceding year. 791 posts were pensionable.

13. The turnover in staff through resignations, transfers, etc. was 75, a decrease of 46 as compared with the previous year.

Senior Staff Appointment

14. Mr. J. A. TAYLOR was appointed as Controller of Posts (Accounts and Finance) on agreement and arrived in the Colony on 14.2.67.

Senior Staff Promotion

15. Mr. T. H. MESSENGER, Controller of Posts, was promoted to Senior Controller of Posts (Traffic) with effect from 18.3.67.

16. Mr. LI Yun-gun, Assistant Controller of Posts Class I, was promoted to Controller of Posts with effect from 21.8.66.

Senior Staff leaving the Service

17. Mr. J. P. HORGAN, Assistant Controller (Telecommunications) Class I, resigned with effect from 2.6.66.

18. Mr. R. HOGARTH, Controller of Posts, left the Colony on pre- retirement leave on 24.4.66 and retired on 21.8.66.

19. Mr. G. A. CUPPLEDITCH, Senior Controller of Posts (Traffic) proceeded on pre-retirement leave on 21.11.66 and retired on 15.3.67.
