Promotion
21. Mr. C. ROWLINSON, Assistant Controller (Telecommunications) Class I, was promoted to Chief Inspector (Telecommunications) with effect from 16.5.64.
Staff Training
22. The Postal School continued to provide training for Postal Clerks. Five six-week courses were held and attended by a total of 50 clerks.
23. 34 Postmen attended English Language classes operated by the Training Unit of the Establishment Branch, Colonial Secretariat.
FINANCE
24. Revenue collected by the department amounted to $82,385,666.78, an increase of $3,986,236.85 over the 1963-64 figure. In addition, a total of $4,724,315.55 was collected from the sale of revenue stamps.
25. Expenditure on all services totalled $40,217,588.20, an increase of $3,091,467.86 over the previous year. This was mainly due to an increase in personal emoluments and conveyance of air mails.
26. The total business turnover, including remittance transactions, amounted to $178,326,641.00, an increase of almost $14 million over 1963-64.
Wireless Licences
27. Revenue from telecommunication licences of all types issued by this department totalled $3,387,006.00, exceeding the previous year's total by $88,088.00.
Remittance Services
28. Money orders issued and paid totalled 37,828 valued at $4,580,866.60, compared with 36,108 transactions worth $4,556,604.31 in the preceding year.
