Telephone Allocation Committee
84. The administration of some 7,592 instruments, comprising 7,005 connected to the public telephone system and 587 inter-communication telephones in use by Government continued to be handled by the depart- ment. Technical advice on telephone communications was given to departments and specifications drawn up for equipment required. Main- tenance of inter-communication systems is let to private contract and was carried out satisfactorily during the period.
Broadcasting
85. The Government and Commercial broadcasting services con- tinued to supply programmes in both the English and Chinese languages and the second channel of the Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Company's Chinese programme was brought into service on 16th June, 1963.
International Statistics
86.
Annual statistics covering the various telecommunications services and facilities in Hong Kong were provided to Berne for inclusion in international publications.
