93. Electronic plastic welding equipment continued to increase in the Colony with its attendant interference to radio communication. Investigations of interference to radio circuits from this source were conducted during the year and advice given where necessary on steps to be taken to eliminate the cause of the interference.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS ORDINANCE
95. Prosecutions under the Telecommunications Ordinance showed a sharp decrease compared with the previous years records. Only eight prosecutions were instituted in respect of unlicensed radio receivers, resulting in fines amounting to $140 being imposed.

96. Two Part I and four Part II Postmaster General examinations for proficiency in Wireless Telegraphy were conducted during the year at the Hong Kong Technical College, Hung Hom, and the results were as follows:

Part II of this examination can be taken up to three times in a year. 97. Two Radar examinations were conducted by the Department on behalf of the Director of Marine during the year. Out of the 21 candidates who sat 15 were successful in passing.
98. Three Morse tests for members of the special Police and Marine Police constables were held during the year. All 15 candidates were successful.
99. The Post Office continued to advise the Director of Commerce and Industry on the control of imports and exports of radio equipment and also the Government and Military Stores Department on disposal of obsolete and confiscated radio equipment.
