[labourer] has before me, a magistrate of the said Colony, entered into his own recognizance, and found sufficient sureties for his appearance at the next criminal session of the Supreme Court [or as the case may be] to answer Our Sovereign Lord the King for that he [etc., as in the commitment], for which he was taken and committed to a prison: These are, therefore, to command you, in His Majesty's name, that if the said C.D. do remain in your custody in a prison for the said cause, and for no other, you shall forthwith suffer him to go at large.
