The criminal Sessions of the Supreme Court closed to-day. It is gratifying to know that the Calendar was light-in all twenty cases most of them for trifling offences. Several of the prisoners (Chinamen) plead guilty, which is something now with them, and it is to be hoped from this that they are beginning to fear and re- spect a regular Jodicial tribunal. Sentance of death was passed on four boatmen convicted of a murder committed on board a boat they were plundering near Tytan on the 30th of March.

Letters of the 14th mention, that Mr Consul Macgregor had been pelted with stones by the "Sovereign people." Mr Macgregor takes the matter very quietly; but it is an insult to be. atoned for.
