W. H. FRANKLYN.

Victoria, 5th August, 1845.

H. FRANKLYN has for sale an invoice of Mineral Tar and oil paints in small casks fland cases, at a very moderate price.

The Mineral Tar Paint is particularly adapted for all out-buildings, being impervious to the weather, and prevents the decay of whatever material is coated with it.

To the architect, engineer, and builder, in the construction of buildings and of railroads, it will be found of great value for wood laid under ground, or imbedded in stone or brickwork, for tiles, in ferior states, and plaster work, exposed to the wea ther; for piles, flood-gates, bridges, jetties, and piers, and all material in any exposed situation, liable to speedy ducay possessing, as it does, the property of preserving Timber in its original sound- ness without making it brittle, and is the best pre. server of iron-work yet discovered. It was used in repairing York Minster, and is regularly used for the Hounslow and croydon barracks and other

buildings belonging to government,

Ship builders, ship-owners, and barge-masters, will find it the best material for painting the bot- toms of vessels and dressing the decks-for painting the funnels of steam-boats, boilers, the flooring and sides of engine-rooms and iron tanks-for effectual- ly destroying the worn, and preventing the dry-rot. It has been used upon the Emerald, Dochess of Kent, Prince George, Royal George, Duke of Sus rex. and the city of Boulogne steam-vessels, and upon other steam and sailing vessels with perfect satisfaction.

Noblemen and agriculturists will find it the best material for park fences; farm-buildings, wen- ther-boarding, hurdles, hop-poles, and garden-walls; after it is laid on it is not affected by heat, and from the chemical ingredients of which itis manufactured it not only becomes extremely durable, but has a brighter and more glossy apperance then ordinary black point, and is cheaper than any other can he used. It is also specially prepared for canvass and cordage, and is, therefore, peculiarly adapted for all canvass roofs and coverings, preserving and mak- ing them water tight. Mr. Roy has much pleasure in referring, as a specimen, to the canvass rool over the artificial Ice at the Colosseum, Regent's Park.
