The following Convention, signed on the 13th November last, between Great Britain and Belgium for the purpose of enabling Joint Stock Companies of the one Country to sue and be sued in the Courts of the other, is published for general information.

CONVENTION BETWEEN HER MAJETSY AND THE KING OF THE BELGIANS, RELATIVE TO JOINT STOCK COMPANIES. SIGNED AT LONDON, NOVEMBER 13TH, 1862.

Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and His Majesty the King of the Belgians, having judged it ex- pedient to come to an understanding in order to define, within their respective dominions and pos- sessions, the position of commercial, industrial, and financial Companies and Associations consti- tuted and authorized in conformity with the laws in force in either of the two countries, have re- solved to conclude a Convention for that purpose, and have named as their Plenipotentiaries, that is to say :-
Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Right Honourable John Earl Russell, Viscount Amberley of Amber ley and Ardsalla, a Peer of the United Kingdom, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, a Member of Her Britannic Majesty's Most Honoura- ble Privy Council, Her Britannic Majesty's Prin- cipal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs; and the Right Honourable Thomas Milner Gibson, a Member of Her Britannic Majesty's Most Honoura- ble Privy Council, a Member of Parliament, and President of the Committee of Privy Council for Affairs of Trade and Foreign Plantations;
And His Majesty the King of the Belgians, the Sieur Sylvain Van de Weyer, His Envoy Extra- ordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Her Britannic Majesty, Grand Cross of the Order of
Sa Majesté la Reine du Royaume Uni de la Grande Bretagne et d'Irlande, et Sa Majesté le Roi des Beiges, ayant jugé utile de s'entendre, pour régulariser dans leurs Etats et Possessions respectifs, la situation des Compagnies et Associa tions commerciales, industrielles, et financières, constituées et autorisées suivant les lois particu- lières à chacun des deux pays, ont résolu de con- clure une Convention dans ce but, et ont muni à cet effet de leurs pleins pouvoirs, savoir:--
Sa Majesté la Reine du Royaume Uni de la Grande Bretagne et d'Irlande, le Très Honorable Jean Comte Russell, Vicomte Amberley de Am- berley et Ardsalla, Pair du Royaume Uni, Che- valier du Très Noble Ordre de la Jarretière, Membre du Très Honorable Conseil Privé de Sa Majesté Britannique, Principal Secrétaire d'Etat de Sa Majesté Britannique pour les Affaires Etrangères; et le Très Honorable Thomas Milner Gibson, Membre du Très Honorable Conseil Privé de Sa Majesté Britannique, Membre du Parlement, et Président du Comité du Conseil Privé pour Affaires de Cominerce et des Colonies;
