GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Tenders will be received at the Surveyor General's Office on or before Monday the 12th proximo for the repairs of the Quarry Bay, Stanley, Pokefulum and Aberdeen Roads during the 3 months ending 31st December next.
Specifications may be seen on application between the hours of 11 A.M. and 3 P.M

nated Chun ah Kwel against the above named David Cowen to recover Seven Hundred Dollars dainages alleged to have been sustained by the Plaintiff by breach of contract on the part of the Defendant; and it being alleged that the said David Cowen does not reside within the Island of Hongkong or its dependencies a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued returnable on the Nineteenth day of September instant, wherein Adolph Hourjau, and Arthur Booth of Hong-
kong, partners in the Mercantile firm of Messrs. Bourjan Habener and Company, and John Steward Lapraik, also of Hongkong, Merebant, and Thomas Beliner, also of Hougkong, Muster Mariner, are Garnishees;
Notice is hereby given thereof and that if at any time before Önal judgment in this action, the said David Cowen or any person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the ap- pearance or plea required by the Ordinance of for and regulate Process in actions at Law against this Island intituled "An Ordinance to provide persons absent from the Colony," the said At- tachment may be dissolved.
