REMARKS.
The bearings are taken from the Chart of Riouw Straits by the Lieutenant
2nd Class I. A. P. J. de Roy van Quedemyn, 1863.
Attention is further called to the advertisements in the Java newspaper of 23rd October and 7th December, 1866, No. 85 and No. 98 of the Director of Ways and Means containing the report about the placing of the iron bolbeacon on the N.E. point of the Panreef and of the Rear Admiral Commander-in-Chief and Chief of the Department of Marine in Nether- lands India of 22nd January, 1867, (Java Newspaper, No. 7), and of 20th July, 1867, (Java Newspaper, Nos. 60 & 61), referring to the placing and lighting of the light of the 6th class on the islands Klein, Kannas, Terkoelei, and Savë in con- nection with the light on the Pedro Branco rocks (Horseburgh light) in Singapore Straits and of a stone pyramid near the "red spot" on the Island Pinang (Riouw.)
