GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Tenders for Contracts for the supply of the Articles, included in the undermentioned Schedules, to the Government Civil and Lock Hospitals, for the space of One Year commencing on the 26th of December, 1870, will be received at this Office until Noon of the 1st of December, 1870.
Schedule 1, Provisions.
Do.
2, Medical Comforts.
Do.
3, Bedding and Clothing.
Do. 4; Miscellaneous.
Tenders may be made for all four Schedules, or for each separately.
The Contractor will be required to enter into a Bond for the due fulfilment of his Contract, and for the supply of all Articles of the best quality.
Tenders must be in Duplicate, and in sealed envelopes, endorsed "Tender for Hospital Contracts." Forms of Tender, and all other information may be obtained from the Superintendent of the Government Civil Hospital.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
His Excellency Major-General WHITFEILD, Commanding Her Majesty's Troops in China and Japan, and Lieutenant-Governor of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, has been pleased to appoint CHARLES VANDELEUR CREAGH, Esquire, to be Assistant Superintendent of the Hongkong Fire Brigade; such appointment to take effect from the 19th Instant, inclusive.

NOTICE.

All Persons intending to apply for Seamen's Boarding House Licenses for the Year 1870-71, under Ordinance No. 6 of 1852, are to send in their applications in writing to this Office, on or before Saturday, the 19th November, stating accurately the position of the House, and that there is an entire dwelling intervening between it and any House licensed for the sale of Spirituous or Fermented Liquors.
In measuring the rooms, strict regard will be paid to the Regulations laid down on 1st January, 1855, and no License will be granted to any House that does not come within the full meaning of the Ordinance.
Before a License can be issued, the Applicant will be required to produce the sanction of a Police Magistrate.
