TRANSLATION.
PUBLIC WORKS. DISTRICT OF MANILA.
Corps of Engineers of Roads, Canals, Ports, and Light-houses.
The requisite Works being about to commence for installing a Catadioptric Apparatus of the 6th order in the Light-house situated on the butt of the North Mole of the river " Pasig," Mariners are warned that the said Light will be extinguished from the 11th instant, until the termination of the Works.

His Excellency Major-General WHITFEILD, Commanding Her Majesty's Troops in China and Japan, and Lieutenant-Governor of Hongkong and its Dependencies, has been pleased to recognize Mr. C. EMIL BADE as in temporary charge of the Netherlands Consulate at Hongkong, till further notice.
