variance in the sense of the English and Chinese

An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hong-

kong, with the advice of the Legislative Coun- cil thereof, to amend "The Excise Ordinance

(Opium) 1858-1879.”

WHEREAS it is expedient to make better provision

for the apprehension and punishment of offenders

against the Opium Ordinances, and also to further amend the said Ordinances.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the

advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

I. This Ordinance may be cited as "The Excise Ordinance (Opium) 1858-1879, Amendment Ordinance 1879.”

II. Sections II and VI of Ordinance No. 1 of 1879, are hereby repealed.
