Whangpoo Conservancy Works about to be commenced at the upper end of Gough Island, on the Pootung side of the river South of Kajow Creek, and in the Ship
Channel between Gough Island and the Pootung share,
NOTICE is hereby given that Conservancy Works are about to be commenced on the East side of the upper end of Gough Island, and on the right or Pootung side of the river immediately South of the Kajow Creek. As the Works progress toward the fairway for passing vessels a mark boat will be placed at the Southern end of the Works at the upper end of Gough Island, and another at the outer end of the Works near Kajow Creek. Each of these mark-boats will exhibit, by day, a Red flag, and by night a Red light over a White light, vertically.
Conservancy Works will also be carried on in the Ship Channel between Gough Island and the Pootung shore from a barge which will be moored in various positions as the work progresses. Such barge will, however, be removed from the fairway of shipping during the night.
CAUTION. Captains and/or Pilots are required to navigate their vessels with the greatest caution, and go at a slow speed only between the Works immediately South of Kajow Creek and the Tai-king Creek.
