TIMES IN WHICH HAWKING IS PERMITTED.

15. The licensee shall not hawk any wares between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. without the permission of the Inspector General of Police.

16. The licensee shall not be in possession of any wares or implements for the pur- pose of hawking in any street, highway, road, lane, square, court, alley or passage, whether a thoroughfare or not, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. without the permission of the Inspector General of Police.

Conditions of hawkers stallholders licence.

1. The licence is not transferable and shall not be lent or hired to any person.

2. No person shall alter, deface, or make any erasure on a licence, and no person shall use, or have in his possession with a view to use, a licence on which an erasure has been made, or which has been altered or defaced in any way.

3. The licensee is subject to all enactments in force for the time being relating to hawkers of his class. It is within the discretion of the Inspector General of Police to cancel the licence of any licensee who has been convicted of any offence.

4. Every licensee shall produce four copies of his photograph, two to be deposited in the Police Licensing Office, the third to be affixed to his licence, and the fourth to be affixed to a card supplied by the Licensing Office and having thereon his name, licence number, and particulars of the site and measurements of his stall. This card shall be kept exhibited on the stall in a conspicuous position to the satisfaction of the Inspector General of Police. The licensee shall produce his licence on the request of any police officer.

STALLS.

5. Only stalls of an approved pattern, models of which may be seen at the Hawkers Offices at Central and Yaumati Police Stations, shall be used.

No complete stall shall exceed in dimensions 6 feet in length and 3 feet in width except cooked food stalls which shall not exceed 7 feet in length and 4 feet in width.

6. Licensees of cooked food, fruit and vegetable stalls shall provide a covered galvanised iron receptacle for refuse.

7. Licensees of cooked food stalls are not permitted to use any fuel except charcoal. The use of wood or coal is prohibited as is the use of any chimney.

8. The licensee shall sweep up and remove any refuse caused by his trade and shall not throw the same down any public sewer or into any side-channel, gully or pipe hole and shall keep his stall in a clean and sanitary condition.

POSITION OF STALLS,

9. The licensee is not permitted to place his stall or anything pertaining to his business within 10 feet of any storm water grating or to obstruct any side-channel or to alter the position of his stall without the written permission of the Inspector General of Police.

10. Licensees have no claim to the pitches where they squat and may be removed therefrom and their licences may be cancelled when considered necessary by order of the Inspector General of Police. In such cases the licensee may, if he has committed no breach of any of the conditions of his licence, be refunded a proportionate part of the fee paid for the unexpired period of the licence.

11. No licensee will be permitted to squat on any recognised pitch on any Chinese New Year Day and the following day,
