Visibility. --White 20 miles; Red 10 miles.

Power-White 5,000 candles; Red 2,000 candles.

Remarks.--The Light is unwatched.

The Astronomical positions are only approximate unless seconds are given. The bearings are given both True and Magnetic, and those relating to lights are from seaward. The risibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only in thick or Joggy weather. The elevation given is the height of focal plane above high water.

Bass Strait.

Cape Wickham Light.--King Island, -Intended alteration in character,

MARINERS and others are hereby notified that the Fixed White Light on Cape Wick- ham will be replaced by a Group Flashing White Light (1) on or about 1st July, 1918.

Position. On the north extreme of King Island.

Latitude 39° 36' S.; Longitude 143° 57' E.

Details.-The fixed White Light will be replaced by a new light having the under-

mentioned characteristics.

Character.-Group Flashing White Light showing turo flashes in quick succession

every ten seconds, thus:-
