COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
Order.
In exercise of the powers conferred on him by regulation 55 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, the Governor makes the following order in the interests of public safety, defence, the efficient prosecution of the war and for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community-
It is hereby ordered as follows--
1. Subject as hereinafter provided, the competent authority specified in the first column of the schedule to this order may requisition any property respectively specified in the second column of the said schedule.
2. Where a competent authority requisitions any property he may use or deal with it for such purpose and in such manner as the Governor may direct, in the interests of public safety, defence or the efficient prosecution of the war, or for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community, and may hold or sell or otherwise dispose of the property as if he were the owner thereof and as if the property
