PROCLAMATIONS.

Governor.

By His Excellency Sir FRANCIS HENRY MAY Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same:

Whereas by the tenth section of the Special Police Reserve Ordinance 1914 it was enacted that the Governor might by proclamation whenever it appeared to him advisable to do so cause all or any members of the Reserve to be enrolled as Special Police Con- stables and that all the provisions of Part I of the Peace Preservation Ordinance 1886 should in so far as they were applicable extend and apply to every such member on being so enrolled to all intents and purposes as if such members had been appointed and enrolled under the said Peace Preservation Ordinance and that every member so enrolled should remain and continue subject to the provisions of the said Peace Preservation Ordinance and should have all the powers privileges protection and immunities conferred on special constables by the said Peace Preservation Ordinance until the Governor should by proclamation cancel such enrolment whereupon all members so enrolled should again. become subject to the Special Police Reserve Ordinance 1914 as members of the Reserve:

And Whereas I did on the third day of September 1915 in pursuance of the said, powers issue a proclamation causing all the members of the Special Police Reserve to be enrolled as special police constables :

And Whereas the said tenth section of the Special Police Reserve Ordinance 1914 has been repealed by the tenth section of the Hongkong Police Reserve Ordinance 1917:

And Whereas it is enacted in the said tenth section of the Hongkong Police Reserve Ordinance 1917 that notwithstanding the repeal of the said tenth section of the Special Police Reserve Ordinance 1914 it shall be lawful for the Governor at such time as he may think fit by proclamation to cancel the enrolment proclaimed under the said tenth section of the Special Police Reserve Ordinance 1914 on the third day of September 1915:

And Whereas I have thought fit that the said enrolment should now be so cancelled:

Now Therefore I Sir FRANCIS HENRY MAY Knight Commander of the Most Distin- guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same do hereby by this proclamation cancel the enrolment proclaimed under the said tenth section of the Special Police Reserve Ordinance 1914 on the third day of September 1915.
