HARBOUR NOTIFICATION.

No. 8 of 1906.

(WIJANGPOO CONSERVANCY WORKS.)

All steam vessels to go dead slow when passing between the Wossung

Old High Bar Mark and the Telegraph Hut.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in order to prevent damage to the Whangpoo Conservancy Works now in course of construction on the right or Pootung bank of the river between the Old High Bar Mark and the Telegraph Hut above the Woosung Inner Bar, all steam vessels when passing between said Old High Bar Mark and the Telegraph Hut shall go dead slow,

Any steam vessel disregarding this Notice and thereby causing damage to the Whangpoo. Conservancy Works within the limits above described will be held responsible for such damage.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

CHITOSE WAN, KARAFUTO (LOSOSEI BAY, SAKHALIN IS.)

ESTABLISHMENT OF A STAFF LIGHT.

NOTICE is hereby given that, a wooden Staff, painted white, named Kushuu Kotan has been established on the hill, N. W. of Kushun Kotan (Korsakovsk), by the Local Government of Karafato (Sakhalin Island), and a fiixed white light, minor, has been exhibited thereon.

The Staff Light, being 18 feet high from its base, is elevated two hundred and two (202) feet above the sea, and it will show between the bearings from N. 30° W., through N. and E., to S, 45° 30′ ́E., being visible from a distance of eight (8) Nautical miles.

The bearings are magnetic and as observed from seaward.

The position of the Staff Light, according to the Japanese Admiralty chart No. 292 is :-

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

KAGOSHIMA BAY, KIUSHIU.

ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW STAFF LIGHT AND WITHDRAWAL

OF PRESENT ONE AT KAGOSILIMA.

NOTICE is hereby given that, new wooden Stuff, painted white, will be established to the Southern end of Itcho-Daiba (Breakwater), Kagoshima Harbour, Province of Satsuma, by the Kagoshima Prefecture, and- a fixed red light, minor, be exhibited thereof on and after the 15th August, 1906.

The New Staff Light, being 34 feet high from its base is elevated Forty-five (45) feet above the sea, and will show all round, being visible from a distance of Six (6) Nautical miles.

The position of New Staff Light, according to the Japanese Admiralty chart No. 214 is :---

Note:-The present Staff Light will be withdrawn on the same night when the New One has been

exhibited.
