Application for Registration of Trade Marks.
NOTICE is hereby given that The BRITISH
CIGARETTE COMPANY LIMITED (a Company registered under the laws of Hour. kong), of 18. Pank Fuildings, Hongkong, and 9A Nanking Road. Shanghai, China, Tobacco Manufacturers, had on the 31st January 1906, and the 28th February 1906, applied for the registration in Hongkong, in the Register of Trade Marks, of the following Trade Marks:- Trade Mark No. 1 consists of a label hav-
ing three panels, the middle panel being narrower than the otliers. The left hand Panel contains the repres- entation of a Chinese Lantern above which is the distinctive word **Light", the Lantern being repre- sented as suspended from the letter "G" which forms part of the word "Light". At the foot of the panel are the words “ British Cigarette Co., Ltd.". The middle panel bears a blink space for the insertion of words referring to the 'goods. The right hand panel contains in the upper part the representation of three Chin- ese Lanterns suspended within an arch shaped outling with ornanicnta- tions on either side and at the foot there is a shield bearing the words "British Cigarette Co., Ltd."
Trade Mark No. 2 consists of a label hav- ing two panels arranged side by side. In the left hand panel in the middle thereof is he resented a Bat in a flying attitude with the representa- tion of clouds and a crescent moon. Above this picture is the distinctive wordBut and at the foot of the panel the name British Cigarette Co., Ltd.". The left hand panel con- tains two dises one partly imposed upon the oth. r. In the upper disc is the representation of a Bat in a flying attitude with a landscape scene below and a crescent moon above. In the lower disc appears the name "British Cigarette Co., Ltd.”
Trade Mark No. 3 consists of a label of 3 panels placed side by side. The centre panel is narrower than the others and in use contains wording descriptive of the goods. The left hand panel contains in the middle, within a circle, the representation of a bird perched upon a projecting branch of a bamboo which is repre- sented as extending from the top to the bottom of the pane'. In the up- per part is the distinctive word "Bamboo and in the lower part upon a band the name * British Cigarette Co. Ltd." The right hand panel contains the representation of a bamboo extending upwards on either side. In the middle is a shield bearing the word "Bamboo" and at the bottom the representation of a Chinese building, with a band at the bottom bearing the name British Cigarette Co., Ltd.”
