NOTICES TO MARINERS.

P. JACKS,

Land Officer.

PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.

Coast and Geodetic Survey.

BEARINGS and courses are true and given in degrees measured clockwise from 0° (North) to 360° followed in parentheses by the equivalent magnetic value in degrees measured either from North or South; bearings relating to the visibility of lights are given from seaward.

Distances are in nautical miles unless otherwise stated. All charts referred to are published by the Coast and Geodetic Survey.

Reports of dangers, changes in aids to navigation, and other information affecting Philippine charts and sailing directions, masters of vessels and others interested are requested to forward promptly to the Director of Coast Surveys, Manila, P.I. It is desirable that reports be accompanied by a piece of the chart affected, showing the change, and any chart so used will be replaced by this Office.

Nautical Information.-A complete set of charts and sailing directions of the Philippine Islands and vicinity, with other matter of interest to navigators, is kept on file in the Survey Office in the Intendencia Building, and all shipmasters are invited to avail themselves of this information.

Copies of these notices will be furnished to mariners, free of charge, on application to the Coast and Geodetic Survey, Manila, or its chart agencies. They are also on file in the United States consulates at Yokohama, Kobe, Nagasaki, Shanghai, Hongkong, and Singa- pore, where facilities will be afforded for their inspection.
