PHILIPPINE ISLANDS-ENTRANCE TO MANILA AND SUBIC BAYS.
DANGEROUS AREAS ON ACCOUNT OF MINE-FIELDS.

Former Notice. - No. 161/1941 of the 17th July, 1941 hereby cancelled.

Details.-(1) The entrances to Manila and Subic Bays are dangerous on account of
mines.
(2) The entrance to Subic Bay Naval Defensive Sea Area is prohibited. (3) The entrance to and departing from Manila Bay is permitted only
during daylight hours.
Directions.-INCOMING VESSELS.
All vessels, including small craft, desiring to enter Manila Bay from the Northward must pass Luzon Point at a distance of not less than 3 miles.
Those approaching from the Southward must pass Taytayen Point not less than 3 miles, thence proceed to a point 261 degrees (true) distant 2.5 miles from La Monja Light.
A station ship flying the International Code Flag S will be approx- imately at this point. Vessels should hoist their International Signal Letters on sighting the station ship and lay to seaward, until permission is granted for you to proceed when you will
