Order.

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by regulation 15 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, (which relates to photography and the making of sketches and plans), His Excellency the Governor hereby revokes the order published as Government Notification 763 in the Gazette of 5th July, 1940, and instead makes the following order-

The Photography and Sketching Restriction Order, 1941.

1. This order may be cited as the Photography and Citation. Sketching Restriction Order, 1941.

2. The area comprising the whole of the Colony of Hong Area where Kong and the territorial waters thereof (except the areas graphy, etc., described in paragraph 4), being an area in relation to which prohibited. the restriction of photography appears to the Governor to be expedient in the interests of public safety and of defence, is prescribed as an area of which, or of any part of or object. in which, no person shall, without the written permission of the Chief Security Officer, make any photograph, sketch, plan or other representation.

3. Any person may have a camera with him—

(a) in either of the areas specified in paragraph 4;

(b) on the Star Ferry or the Hong Kong and Yaumati Ferry on direct routes between Hong Kong and Kowloon: Provided that nothing in this paragraph shall authorize any person to take a photograph while travelling on any of the said ferries;

(c) elsewhere, by written permission of the Chief Security Officer.

4. The areas referred to in paragraphs 2 and 3 (a) are- (a) in the island of Hong Kong, the area comprised graphy, etc.. within the following limits—

The north shore from Hill Road to the eastern end of Tung Lo Wan Road, Causeway Bay; Tung Lo Wan Road from its eastern end to its junction with Tai Hang Road; Tai Hang Road; Bowen Road; Garden Road between Bowen and Robin- son Roads; the eastern end of Robinson Road to Park Road; Park Road; Bonham Road from its junction with Park Road to Hill Road; Hill Road:

(b) in Kowloon and New Kowloon, the area comprised within the following limits-

The shore line from a point due south of the junction of Kom Tsun Street and Castle Peak Road, Cheung Sha Wan, to Kai Tak Road at its junction with Yat Tack Road, Kowloon City; Castle Peak Road from Kom Tsun Street to Taipo Road; Taipo Road from Castle Peak Road to Boundary Street; Boundary Street from Taipo Road to the Kowloon-Canton Railway Bridge; the eastern side of the Kowloon-Canton

permitted.
