THE HONG KONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, AUGUST 20,.

NOW THEREFORE I, the said Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council do by this Proclamation direct that paragraphs (2) and (3) of section 4. of the Pro- clamation No. 6 of the 8th August, 1941, shall hereafter be read and construed as if the following paragraphs were substituted therefor

(2) the practice and manner of preparation and the presentation of contractor's accounts for work performed and materials supplied in connexion with Air Raid Precautions and of their certification by Government officers.

(3) in particular, as to whether gifts in cash or in kind have been received by any public servants, directly or indirectly, from any contractors, engaged in work or as suppliers of materials, in respect of Air Raid Precautions on behalf of or under the supervision of any Government Department.

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony at Victoria, Hong Kong, this 20th day of August, 1941.

Order.

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by regulation 50 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, 1, the CONTROLLER OF TRADE, with the consent of His Excellency the Governor, hereby revoke the order published as Government Notification. 878 in the Gazette of 2nd August, 1940, and instead make the following order--

The export and re-export, except by licence under the hand of the Controller of Trade or under the hand of an officer of his department on his behalf, of all goods to the undermentioned destinations is prohibited-

The Baltic States, the Empire of Japan (Japan proper, Korea, Formosa, Karafuto, Kwantung leased territory, islands in the Pacific under Japanese mandate) and Manchuria in the Republic of China, Portugal and Portuguese Atlantic Islands, Spain and Spanish dependencies including the Spanish Zone of Morocco, Sweden, Switzerland, Tangier, Turkey and U.S.S.R. (Black Sea poris).

Applications for licences must specify in as great detail as possible the route by which the goods concerned will reach their destination.
