"OTICE is hereby given that CARLOWITZ AND COMPANY of No. 2. Connaught Road Central, Victoria in the Colony of Hong- kong, Merchants, have on the 14th day of May, 1912, applied for the registration in Hongkong in the Register of Trade Marks of the following Trade Mark, namely:-

The representation of a shield of a pecu-

liar design in which appear the Chinese characters 禮和洋行

(being the Chinese name of "Carlo- witz & Co."); on either side of the shield is the representation of a lion, and above the shield is the representation of the head of an- other lion with its front paws rest- ing on the shield;

in the name of the said CARLOWITZ AND COM- PANY, who claim to be the sole proprietors thereof.

The Trade Mark has been used by the Applicants since 1903 in respect of the follow- | ing goods :-

Gunpowder, in Class 20.
