Short title,

(c) any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against any of the said Orders; or

(d) any investigation, legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege, obligation, liability, penalty, forfeiture or punishment as aforesaid:

and any such investigation, legal proceeding or remedy may be instituted, continued or enforced, and any such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed, as if the said Orders had not been revoked:

Provided that after the commencement of this Order no debt to which the Clearing Office (Italy) Order, 1936, applies shall be payable to the Controller of Anglo-Italian debts (hereafter referred to as "the Controller''), notwithstanding that it is a debt to which Article 3 of the Treaty of Peace (Covenant of the League of Nations) (No. 2) Order, 1935. applies and was due before the commencement of this Order.

(3) Any sums in the hands of the Controller at the com- mencement of this Order or thereafter received by him shall be paid by him into the special account referred to in the proviso to paragraph (5) of the said Article 3.

(4) Notwithstanding anything in this Order accounts shall continue to be prepared by the Controller and audited by the Comptroller and Auditor-General as provided in paragraph (8) of the said Article 3.

2.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Treaty of Peace extent, com- (Covenant of the League of Nations) Order, 1936.

(2) This Order shall extend to the following countries as well as to the United Kingdom, namely:-

(a) the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands;

(b) all the colonies, except colonies administered by the Government of a Dominion within the meaning of the Statute of Westminster, 1931;

(c) all British protectorates;

(d) all territories in respect of which a mandate on behalf of the League of Nations has been accepted by His Majesty and is being exercised by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom.

(3) This Order shall come into operation on the fifteenth day of July, nineteen hundred and thirty-six.

(4) The Interpretation Act, 1889, as amended by any subsequent enactment, shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parlia-

ment.
