or carried, or any other provision to be made if he is satisfied, that such other fitting, appliance or apparatus, or type thereof, or provision, is at least as effective as that required by these regulations.
PART VII.
Application of Regulations.
99. These regulations shall apply to all new ships and to all existing ships save in so far as the Governor may in the exercise of the power conferred on him by section 10 (6) (a) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, as amend- ed by the Merchant Shipping Amendment Ordinance, 1935, treat such existing ship as complying with the requirements of these regulations.
These regulations do not apply to ships of Classes 1, 2 and 11 in Group I of regulation 1, to which ships the Board of Trade Rules apply.
Repeals.
100. Table A in the Schedule to the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, and regulations 45 and 46 in Table E in the Schedule to the said Ordinance are rescinded with effect from the 15th July, 1936.
Citation.
101. These regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Life-Saving Appliances) Regulations, 1935, and shall come into operation on the 15th day of July, 1936.
