(3) The lamps and any parts of such apparatus liable to become hot shall be so arranged and guarded as not to en- danger scenery or other material. The guard shall be of wire mesh or of such other type as will afford ventilation, shall be rigidly fixed, and, where practicable, shall be at a distance of at least 12 inches vertically and 3 inches horizontally from the casing of the lamp or holder.

(4) Each batten shall be suspended by at least three steel wire ropes, and, if required by the Licensing Authority a suit- able self-sustaining winch shall be provided.
