The Council met pursuant to adjournment.
CONGRATULATIONS.-His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council with reference to the honour His Majesty the King had conferred on two members of the Council, viz., the Order of Knight Bachelor on Sir JOSEPH HORSFORD KEMP, K.C., C.B.E., and Companion of the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George on Mr. ROBERT HORMUS KOTEWALL, LL.D.
Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK and Sir SHOUSON CHOW addressed the Council. Sir JOSEPH HORSFORD KEMP and Dr. ROBERT HORMUS KOTEWALL replied.
MINUTES.-The Minutes of the Meeting held on the 31st December, 1926, were
confirmed.
STANDING LAW COMMITTEE.-His Excellency the Governor appointed the following to be Members of the Standing Law Committee:-The Attorney General (Chairman), the Colonial Treasurer, Sir H. E. POLLOCK, Kt., K.C., Dr. R. H. KOTEWALL, C.M.G., LL.D., and Mr. D. G. M. BERNARD.
