Thank you for sending us a copy of the list of main points discussed at this meeting.

We would like to make the following comments :-

a)

Paragraph 2. The sense of the last sentence is

b) Paragraph 3, last subparagraph. HKD urged that Mr Rooney should be given more time in Hong Kong. We felt that one day would not be sufficient for him to look fully into the transfer of HKID's records.

c) Paragraph 4, last sentence. We said that as the building would not be ready for occupation before beginning of July 1996 HKID could not transfer their visa and passport operations to it before then. HKID had drawn up their plans without consulting us. They would have to be asked to postpone the transfer.

d) Paragraph 6. The word "advice" in the second line should be replaced by "action". We do not propose to take the lead on all subjects. But we will provide overall supervision.
