The Chamber is now staffed by an Executive Director who is supported by 3 girls, very thin indeed.

If we say we are happy with our current status :

access to BMG through General Committee members' UK parent companies and the British Trade Mission

Activities :

excellent and well attended luncheon meetings expanding seminars/conferences

trade mission

"Britain in Hong Kong"/The British Directory

We can carry on as it is as we are very successful givẹn a very limited resources.

IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGIC PLAN

If we are not happy and went to implement the agreed Strategic Plan, the Chamber needs to expand its office organisation as Appendix i.

I wish to give the General Committee another chance to reconsider the Strategic Plan in view of the misgivings expressed at in General Committee held on 19 April 1993.

To achieve this, I propose we need additional financial and human resources as stated in Appendix 2 (incremental expenditure).

Remuneration of the Executive Director is increased by HK$500,000 from Year 1 and so on.

Production of Economic Raport is sub-contracted thus avoiding the need for a high salary Research Manager. Alternatively the Chamber could seek a sponsors (in return for a full page advertisement in "Britain in Hong Kong") for an Economic Report Section in the monthly magazine.
