1. We spoke. I enclose a copy of the Commission's agreement with the Chinese authorities setting out the privileges and immunities of the EC Delegation in Peking. As I said in UKRep telno 267, this is the model that the Commission would like to use for the Delegation in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong authorities have this text.

Simon Nuttall (DGI) raised one point of detail with me which I did not report in UKRep telno 267. In terms of the privileges and immunities detailed in the First Schedule to Cap 190, why was the Commission being offered only those listed in Parts I and III but not those listed in Parts II and IV?
