1. This fax covers a number of points, on which I would be grateful for advice/action:
Transfer of UK Related Functions and Records.

2. I refer to your letter of 10 December 1993 to Francis Cheung in the Immigration Department. Could I suggest, if you have not already done so, you copy in OED. They need to be kept in the picture in view of the possible lektriever requirement given the size and weight of these items.
Funding/British Council
3. A plea. We always seem to be running behind the British Council in obtaining up to date information on the current state of play regarding Treasury approval for funds and what is happening with the financial problems over the British Council collocation. Can you please give me an up date on the outcome of the submissions for the final funds for the build and on the where we are with the Council problem. I would be grateful for anything you can do to ensure we are kept up to date.
Faxlok to HKD
4. Francis Cornish, on 8 December, sent a fax to Peter Ricketts for onward transmission to Lippitt at GEC.
I personally took this fax to the HKG Commcen for transmission over their direct faxlok link to HKD. I have been assured that it was indeed sent to HKD. Unfortunately, this fax did not reach its destination and a duplicate was sent 24 hours later. I have been asked to investigate the matter and report back to James Smith-Laittan and Francis Cornish. It appears from this end the fax sent to HKD was not acted upon. Can you please do some research at your end and let me know what went wrong.
