Meeting with Procurement Unit

Mr

17. We informed Mr Thursfield that there is surplus space of approximately 320m2 in the British Council side of the building which would appear to be adequate for Procurement Unit although it would mean reducing slightly the requirements for the Conference/Showroom from 93m2 to 70m2 and the General Office (for 11 staff) from 186m2 to 150m2. Thursfield was shown the plans of the available space on levels 1 and 2 and concluded that it looked adequate. He stated that the public route to the Procurement suite should be via the escalator (I have since received confirmation from the British Council that this would be acceptable for Procurement's visitors of five to six a day). Mr Thursfield also requested internal staff toilet facilities (Farrell later indicated that this should be possible by redesigning part of the existing public facilities). Mr Thursfield agreed to let me have by early April his proposals for distribution of staff and functions between the two floors.
