Meetings with Farrell

At our first meeting, Farrell presented revised Preliminary Sketch Designs (PSDs) which were based on cost savings suggested by OED and endorsed by the Hong Kong Steering Committee in January 1993. These were carefully assessed by Mr Whittle, Mr Reading and myself during the visit: we made various amendments which have resulted in draft Final Sketch Designs.

The main changes in comparison with the previously agreed PSDs are:

Consulate-General

(a) Ground floor

(i) Driver's room relocated to gatehouse.

(ii)

One less lift from car parking area.

(iii) Car parking on double stackers for 41

vehicles.

(b) Level one

(i) No ramp to or car parking at this

level.

Domestic equipment store now at this level instead of level 2.

(ii)

(iii)

Stationery store now at this level instead of Management floor level.

(iv)

Old Passport Records now at this level instead of old Management level.

(v) Link to British Council omitted.
