EXTRADITION OF SANIMAN FROM FRANCE

1. I am faxing to you a copy of the letter sent by the French Minister of Justice to our Attorney General. I hope that you have by now seen Paris telno 422, the gist of which I discussed with you when I telephoned you earlier today. Paris have told me that they will be sending a further telegram giving their thoughts on who might make up the team which goes to the Ministry of Justice. You agreed to let us have your thoughts

(preferably by telegram) once you have digested what Paris has to say, on who might come from Hong Kong and when they would be able to come over.

2. I understand that you will call me at the beginning of our working day here on 7 May. This would be useful.
