1 MFA have now confirmed that no (no) scheme to grant the right of abode to HK nationals is either in operation or being planned. However, individual applications for long-term visas on the basis of investment in Hungary would be assessed on a case by case basis on the standard criteria established for all such cases.
2.
An earlier proposal to establish a Chinatown in Budapest to encourage immigration from HK/Chinese entrepreneurs has been shelved indefinitely.
