1. Thank you for your fax of 6 April passing on the record of the "Nationality of Non-Chinese Ethnic Minorities" Debate which took place on 10 March. As I am sure you will appreciate, we and the Home Office do need to have early sight of the various papers on this issue; anything you can do to speed up transmission to us would be appreciated.

2. On the sub-committee meetings, it would be helpful to know whether Emily Lau will be writing to Mr Wardell or another Minister, as was suggested in the agenda for the 26 March meeting and whether the committee will indeed send a delegation to London. If so what will the timing be?

3.

A last point. I seem to recall Simon Vickers telling me when I called on him that the Government voted for the motion. Can you confirm this? I do not see this recorded in any of the papers sent to us so far.
