I have telephoned Legco's London office to introduce myself as the HKD contact. Contact there is Ros Clerk on 630 5122. The delegation will be in London on 15 and 16 June and have asked to see Mr Hurd and Mr Goodlad.

I spoke today to Chris Kelly at the Home Office to suggest that he consider recommending that the Home Secretary see the delegation. It would be appropriate for the highest ranking call to be on the Home Office as they are the lead department on the nationality front. I also explained our problem we want the Legco delegation to be well received but we do not want to set a precedent for calls on Mr Hurd on every occasion. Legco members called on him and covered this ground in January. Mr Kelly agreed to consider this and get back to

me.
