Your letter to 19 April to Ms Philpott NTCD on the question of Hong Kong Indians post 1997 was passed to this department for reply.

Last December New Delhi requested some background on this subject and we sent them a collection of "useful papers". Since then we have continued to keep them up to date. I suggest therefore New Delhi might pass on to you those papers they consider relevant. We in turn will let you have copies of any further information that we send to New Delhi.
