Hong Kong: British Nationality Scheme

You wrote on 21 December to Richard Gozney to ask us to look again at the points scheme under which the British Nationality Scheme for Hong Kong operates. Our initial assessment is that the weighting given in the scheme to those with British links already ensures that they have a significantly higher success rate in gaining British passports than those without such links. Before writing to you substantively, we have commissioned further assessments from the British Trade Commission in Hong Kong. This is requiring some research by them, but we plan to let you have a substantive response within the next two weeks. I am sorry this is taking so long.
