(b) Persons who will need REPS

Most persons in (a) will hold either HK SAR permanent identity cards or ordinary HKSAR identity cards with the ***

symbol. As now, they will not need REPS for travel between Hong Kong, China and Macau. But the following persons will still need REPS for this purpose

(i)

(ii)

those who have lost or damaged their identity cards and need to travel before they can get

replacements;

persons exempted from holding identity cards due to old age or infirmity;

(iii) children aged between 11 and 17 who

would be eligible for *** identity cards if they were adults;

identity cards issued overseas; and

(iv)

holders of Hong Kong permanent

(v)

children aged under 11 (because they normally do not hold identity cards or, if they do, the cards do not bear their photographs).

(c) re-admission to the HKSAR :

no restriction during the validity of the HKSAR REP.

(d) validity : five years.
