mixed marriages between Chinese and Vietnamese people, or people considered as such by the repressive regimes in those two countries. We ask you to especially consider this is light of Article 10 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights concerning the protection of the family to which the United Kingdom is a party, the UN Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and the right of protection of the family and children accorded under the Hong Kong Bill of Rights. We strongly contend that the rights established under International law, may not be abrogated simply to facilitiate the application of immigration law.
