The above mentioned person is of Vietnamese origin and married to a "screened out" Vietnamese asylum seeker in Hong Kong. I understand that she was previously granted residence in China. I believe that she would, therefore, be referred to as Chinese Vietnamese Illegal Immigrant" (ECVII).
According to our information she has been returned against her will to China, and her husband will be returned against his will to Vietnam, effectively dividing the family into two seperate countries. Mrs Chu Nguet Anh will also be refused entry to Vietnam because she is regarded as "Chinese". According to our information she is heavily pregnant.
We would be pleased to receive confirmation that Mrs Chu Nguet Anh has been forcibly repatriated to China and information concerning the means and time or date of repatriation. We believe that this husband and wife will, in all likelihood, never see each other again. This means that the father will never see his child born.
As I hope you are aware both China and Vietnam will exclude the possibilty of the couple re-uniting outside of Hong Kong as both operate a racist policy against the admission of persons of the others ethnicity.
As a human rights society we are sure that this tragic consequence is not the intention of Hong Kong's immigration laws.
In any humane society such a dreadful consequence must surely be averted. We ask you to look closely at this case and to consider an amendment to the views of the Hong Kong Government in the case of
